Favorite Childhood Memory
I have always been a child that seeks to love outdoor activities that began with my mother taken my brothers and I to Lion's park, Cayon park, and Tewinkle park. Playing tag in the park was exciting, lots of physical activity like swinging, running, climbing, jumping that I built a model that illustrated me on the airplane and me riding the bike. The third object a pink flower I used to rip the flower stem and make a flower necklace. The trees, picnic table at the parks every weekend my family planned to social oriented with other children and seeking nature as a relaxation. When summer opened OC Fair, Knotts Berry Farm was the highlight of summer, so I built a rollercoaster showing how much I miss screaming and the thrill of rides. The beaches were fun to play with salted water-built sandcastles, made sand balls like snowballs to attack the other team. The first time I bought my dogs to the beach, seeking who had the most shells wins, throwing a bounced ball up high, watching the waves crash, and planning picnics at the beach.
Costa Mesa Ideal Community
My ideal community in Costa Mesa imagine new possible things that someday my model would become realistic. For instance, tewinkle park would be great to innovate the park, including building a small water park for children to locate near the playground. Primary, pedestrians, bike trails/ lanes the automobiles disrespect people the lack of space, and distraction. A major issue, built pedestrian signals at every stop like Pomona, focus on the more occured incidents in the streets. Locally, grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, police stations, fire stations, hospitals, parks, schools, and buildings. However, I built a model that includes apartment communities, complex, Fourplex, Duplex, Granny Flats, Single-family homes, and mobile homes. I desired to have a colorful atmosphere of various types of housing that support different needs for families. I want to see in the future an Art Museum in Costa Mesa that introduces art work from diverse people, like Frida Kahlo. Next, want a movie dive in at a nearby park like Fairview park has a spacious place to built an amphitheater outdoors. The third, I seen street vendors selling at local parks, going to houses. Although, haven't seen one that owned a food court in my area, the parks should permanently allow vendors to sell and build an indoor marketplace in our community.
My Favorite Childhood memory:
My favorite childhood Memory was when my Mom went into labor. My Nana picked me up from preschool. Then we went to my favorite Chinese Restaurant and got noodles. She brought me to her house where she had bought me a few gifts. She told me that my mom went into labor and my brother would be born soon.
One of the features of the Senior Center
I think that it would be nice to have a place where Grandparents and Grandchildren can have a nice time spending time together. So I present Grandma and me Bakery. As well as Grandpa and me Fishing.
Grandma and me bakery is a place where Grandma and her Granddaughter can bake away.
Grandpa and me Fishing is a place where Grandpa Can teach his Grandson how to fish.
These additions to the Costa Mesa Senior Center will allow Seniors to interact with younger folks in a fun atmosphere.
My ideal community:
On the far left I have some houses. I build two small houses and a apartment. I have lived in a apartment since I was born so I included it to my community. In the future my family and I plan to move to a small house with good spacing. So I added that as well! Moving forward I have a lego castle which represents city hall. Next to city hall I have some blocks which represents benches. For when people get tired or want to see the middle. Then we have another lego building which represents stores. Along the front side we have different stores like the grocery store, clothing store, shoe store, and a bike rental/repair store. Then we also have some bike parking ranks to park your bike when bike riding. On the right far side we have the park which is the park of my childhood memory. Up to this day I still go to the same park/area on my bike. Then in the middle we have art/statues. I added the art because I think our community should have more art pieces around streets and walls. Around it is the streets for cars. Then we have the bike lane. And then the side walk.
My childhood memory:
I did a park. As a kid I love going to the park a lot with my family or even sometimes alone. On the left I added a tree. I love nature, parks remind me of trees, flowers, grass, and etc. Next to my tree I added a table with a lego person which represents me. I added some chairs too. On the right I have a Barbecue pit, when my family and I go to the park we make carne asada, hamburgers, and hotdogs. Then I have my bike next to the tree. I love biking everywhere I go but I mostly love going to the park on my bike.
My childhood memory is of my Grandmother's house, my brother and I used to go there all the time. I remember the fresh greenery all the time, there were multiple plants there that stood out to me. The reason I took this picture of my own plants was because it reminded me of her vegetables and how I used to help her water them sometimes.
My Ideal community would be a community only limited to its resources (as I would have made it far larger if I had searched for more things to put in it). The main part of the town is at the top where most of the city's wealthiest live. The top contains multiple buildings for commerce, cultural sites, an airport, vast parks, one big parking lot, and a Batman that protects the city's populace with the help of John Cena of course. The lower parts is where most of the working class lives, it also contains a power plant protected by the military. Another Batman protects these parts as well, you can never have enough Batmans. There is also an "escalator" that lets people travel between the top and bottom which also has a bank and an exotic zoo. On the right side of the bottom is where a highly populated residential zone. Nearby the residential zone is a fast food restaurant and also a school. The school will be a building that accepts all grades and will be organized by height, higher grades being closer to the top (7th grade on the 9th floor while pre-school and kindergarten will be on the 1st and 2nd).
My childhood memory that I chose to build for this project was the summer camps at Balearic Park. I went through the Summer R.O.C.K.S. program and that park and I met many friends through those programs and have many great memories. I chose this in a way to demonstrate what I love about Costa Mesa which would be the sense of community throughout this city.
This is my model for my ideal park. An ideal park for me would have both forested and open spaces demonstrated by trees/leaves and then the picnic blankets. My ideal park would also include lots of seating and bench areas so those who want to gather, can gather, so the community of Costa Mesa can become even stronger. Also, no one wants to be forced to sit on the ground to take a breather. Another thing that I think is important to parks would be well defined paths that allow all sorts of exercise- and that have the room for it. I want people to be able to walk, bike, run and push a stroller or wheelchair around the park. Accessible playgrounds are also so extremely important to me because as kids, we start building our community in our minds based of what experiences and things we've done or seen in it. Those communities just would not be accurate if everyone can't play. Another area that I find important - and sometimes lacking in our community - is the ability to express out creativity and more artistic areas. I chose to represent this on the model with the easel, building blocks and music notes. I think this is included in my ideal park because again people build community based off what they see and experience, so we want all the creative people of Costa Mesa to been seen and heard (and because music and art are just overall mood boosters). Both of my models were made with a lot of paper and glue, with some leaves included in the park model to show my want for greenery in the area.
My ideal Costa Mesa would incorporate various types of housing, from single-family homes to apartment complexes. Apartment complexes would incorporate rooftop gardens and sitting areas to create more green spaces and reduce flood damage when it rains. Roads would be more pedestrian oriented, with large sidewalks to encourage walking and clearly marked bike lanes. Alongside benches near bus stops would also be bike-rental stations. Parks would be spread out throughout the city and some would include small-scale amphitheaters available for community use in order to encourage the arts and bring the community together. Alongside traffic-heavy streets would be small businesses and street vendors, to not only retain the unique culture of Costa Mesa, but also allow pedestrians to feel safer when traveling through the city. Additionally, to promote the safety and health of our community, all streets and parks would have adequate lighting and drinking fountains/ water bottle refill stations. Lastly, solar panels would be placed on all government buildings to reduce Costa Mesa’s environmental impact. As this city grows, I’d like to see it retain its diverse culture while fostering a tight-knit, health-conscious, and environmentally-aware community.
My favorite childhood memory is going to TeWinkle and Fairview Park. Riding bikes and feeding ducks with my grandparents and my brother. I love being outside and exploring.
My ideal community is a community where everything is within walking and biking radius. Where everyone has access to food, housing, outdoor space, and creativity space. I had an idea to have a central community art garden where people could draw using chalk and create using different materials. It could always be changing to reflect the community. I created a walking and biking path. I also gave access to the community to use a walking bridge to get to areas outside of the immediate community. It could be covered with solar panels to give electricity to the community. I showed how different types of housing could be in the same community. I added a senior community to serve the growing elderly population. I also love the idea of a sports park that could be located nearby.
Community: For my ideal community, I would want most things to be accessible and interactive. Throughout the community, the little cubes represent houses. The Lego pieces with roofs are also houses. On the right side, there are multiple homes and a small community center. The apartments and townhomes are on the outside, making the center within walking distance. To encourage community involvement, I added a community garden and an artist-safe space. For a healthy community, parks are accessible to the public. The right side has a small cafe, restaurant, hospital, bank, and police station. The left side has schools, stores, restaurants, and a fire station. For environmental sustainability, there are some solar panels, represented with light blue rectangles. A bike rental station is also there for people who do not want to use cars. Overall, the community I envision incorporates interaction and sustainability.
Memory: For my favorite childhood memory, I decided on the park. Going to the park with my family and sister holds a strong place in my memory. We would often go to TeWinkle Park in Costa Mesa to walk around. My sister and I loved seeing the ducks and turtles in the pond. Sometimes my family and I would eat at the park. In the model, the green marbles represent the turtles.
Childhood Memory : when I was small I would like to build a castle with legos or draw one and play with Princess and kings with my mom . Ideal community so I did a little park and I put a little duck park water , a dog park so dogs can go play around and some restroom so people can go cause some parks don’t have restrooms and also I included a water Fountain and we’re people can sit down and rest . The last thing that I include was that I put some flowers and a man , girl were they are taking a fresh air and some cars in the street .
Childhood Memory
- So, for my Childhood Memory I chose enjoying Summer. More specifically, the activities. Such as playing water-gun fights with my little brother, building sand castles at the beach, and catching butterflies with my butterfly net in which I would free them after.
Ideal Community
- So, for my Ideal Community I drew a city. For safety and hospitality, I included a police station, a fire station, and a clinic/hospital. As for community involvement, I included a city hall, a community center, a public mural, a community garden with a compost, and a pool for anyone. In terms of education, I included a public school and a library. For religion, I included a church. To address outdoor space and exercising, I included a public park, a bike trail, and a mini park. For housing, I managed to include houses on the outsides. Lastly, I included essential businesses to which I didn't specify due to the stores varying.
Childhood Memory: When I was younger, I would play with my sister and imagine being in a story, we would imagine being pirates, princesses and fairies, we would go on adventures in our own backyard.
Ideal Community: (going from left to right) The Black picture frame represents shops, this would be a restaurant, a movie theater and a shopping mall with a grocery store in the right bottom corner of the frame, below that, the colorful blocks would represent a parking lot. The Paintbrushes outside of the frame would represent streets, while the little plants in between these brushes indicate plants, fauna and parks for a more healthy environment. The lego box and tall tube would be a skyline, places where people can go to work and get money. Finally, at the furthest right, each colored block is a house, where the center (the yellow plant) is a park, the blank space around the park would be parking p[laces for the people who live in the houses.
